On September 12 Apple set up “Apple Special Event”

From the Steve Jobs Theater, Cupertino

Apple announced during the event  in the city of Cupertino, California, four innovations in the market. Where new phones have been announced which are; iPhone XS, iPhone XS  MAX, and iPhone XR, also Apple smart watch which is called ‘Apple watch series 4’. They said their devices were the top two selling devices in the world in the phone or watch markets.

Tim Cook:

born November 1, 1960  in  Mobile, Alabama, United States

Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Auburn University in 1982. He got Masters degree in Business Administration from Duke University’s in 1988.

 

The event  began with the speech of Apple’s chief executive Cook , who expressed how important their devices are in our lives where he said “IOS devices changed our lives from how we learn and work to how we entertain, shop or even order food and to communicate with  one another”

Actually, the devices have changed our lives. they facilitated the lives of people and shortened the effort and time. Facilitated the process of communication between individuals in addition to giving people a means of fun and entertainment, education also many another activities.

 

Jeff Williams who  introduced The first product was announced is Apple watch series 4

Apple watch got number one smart watch in the world, not only that also No. 1 period. Smart watch become important part of our lives it keeps you connected with people. There are a major areas in Apple watch which are:

– Staying connected

– Living active life

– Managing your health

Series 4 Contains a larger screen without increasing the frame size ,it’s over 30% larger.  And battery life up to 18 hours after a single charge, loudspeaker higher by 50%. It’s fourth generation silicon. It contains a power new dual-cor 64-bit processor and up to 2x Faster. It’s made of black ceramic and sapphire crystal. includes Digital crown , providing a greater sense of responsiveness and greater sense of clicks.

There is a new feature in series4 Watch which is the electrocardiogram (ECG) monitor. series 4  Watch can read the electrical signals from a person’s heart. This feature can be used to indicate whether or not someone “shows signs of atrial fibrillation”. This is the first ECG product offered over the counter directly to consumers.

It is available in 3 colors silver, gold and space gray.

Watch series 4 with cellular start at 499$

Watch series 3 become more affordable price , start at 279$

The first piece was sold on 21 September .

 

Apple’s last innovation iPhone x was produced last year. iPhone x got number one smart phone around the world and received 98% customer satisfaction .

The 2018 Event comes with a new version of iPhone X with enhanced features, it is the second innovative product in the event and it is called iPhone XS.

Phillips Schiller introduced iPhone products ,Schiller is Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

Apple has been limited to providing the device with the strongest specifications to compete smart phones in the market. Talking about the technical specifications of this device, it has a screen size of 5.8 inches. 60% greater dynamic range than the iPhone x.

 

The iPhone XS is one of the latest Apple iOS 12 phones it comes with its own Apple A12 Bionic six-core processor that is not available on competitors’ devices.

 

This device comes with 64 GB of storage space. There is a second version with a 256GB storage space. There is also a third version with a storage capacity of 512 GB.

The price of iPhone XS in all storage space starts from 999$.

It comes with 3 different colors, one of them is new in iPhone’s collection which is a beautiful and attractive golden color. It also comes with silver and space gray.

 

iPhone XS max:

The iPhone XS Max is very similar to the iPhone XS but with a larger screen and a larger battery with 6.5 inches in size. Apple said it was the largest device launched by iPhone . It comes with a glass design from the back and front with a metal frame. IPhone XS Max’s IOS is dual-core Bionic A12 processor. It comes with the same colors as iPhone XS, Silver , Space Gray, and Gold. IPhone XS Max comes with the same storage space as the iPhone XS. It has 512 GB version which was not available in iPhone X.

IPhone XS Max is higher in price than iPhone XS by $100.

 

iPhone XR: 

 

The most interesting development during Apple’s event was iPhone XR. It comes with the same A12 Bionic chip the same as in iPhone XS. Apple refers to it as the “new generation of iPhone.” iPhone XR is more affordable option that most people can buy it. The device comes in several colors which are white, Black, blue ( my favorite) , coral, yellow (unsual color), and Red. It comes with 64GB , 128GB ,256GB. Prices start from749$ and will be available in October 26.

 

Face ID:

Apple has updated the Face ID feature. It became quickly and efficiently because it supports True Depth via the front camera. Apple got most secure facial authentication in smart phones.

 

Apple has launched a new feature in their iPhone devices, through which this feature will attract customers, I personally like this feature. iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR Dual SIM feature.

Here the reason people want dual SIM :

– keep two phone numbers

– Use two different plans

– Travel with a local plan

 

In Addition 

– Use two SIM for communication and the Internet

– Separate the working SIM from personal SIM

– For emergencies.

 

In conclusion:

At the end of Apple’s annual Event, where each year they advertise new devices but this year attracted many customers to announce their new features. Apple devices takes first place around the world because it cares about the opinions of its customers and works to develop their devices every year.

What dose Entrepreneurship mean ?

Entrepreneurship is the act of creating a business or businesses through building and expansion it to make a profit.

 

Entrepreneurship Competencies:

Entrepreneurs have to be good at the following:

1- Finding an idea

2- Evaluating an ideas

3- Seeing problems as opportunities

4- Identifying the key people

5- learning from relationships

6- Awareness where to look for answers

 

The word entrepreneur finds its origin in a French word “entreprendre”, which means “to undertake”. An entrepreneur is an individual  person who sets up and founds and runs a small business with purpose to make a profit.

Despite the fact that the word entrepreneur is intertwined with many disciplines, this word has to do with the business sector. But not every businessman is necessarily to be an entrepreneur; the businessman aims to make profit, but the entrepreneur is the one who seeks innovation, development, risk, and profit.

Innovation is a key of entrepreneurship. Innovation, creativity and risk taking are important parts of being an entrepreneur. It includes creating a new item or idea. Which start from producing a new product to distributing to developing new organizational structure.

 

The goal of entrepreneurship

Personal goals:

‏Achieving personal ambition

development of talent and creation

Freedom from employment

Increase income and profit

Public goals:

Increase economic growth.

Provide job opportunities.

Diversity in areas of community service.

‏Increase efficiency and  productivity.

 -Investor of opportunities.

-Excellent leadership skills.

-Director of risks.

 

The role and importance of entrepreneurs:

-Creating new resources and generating investment opportunities.

-Find new markets and new customers.

-Providing and developing business technology.

-Raise efficient use of available resources and discover unconventional sources of new products.

 

 

Types of Entrepreneurs 

There are four major types of entrepreneurs including :

 

-Socio Cultural Classification: In this sector, the entrepreneurs can be divided into four categories.

Immigrant Entrepreneur is an individual who has a recent arrival in a country and start up a business to survive in the country.

Ethnic entrepreneurs have common connections and interactions among people who share common national backgrounds or migration experiences.

Minority entrepreneurs are those who don’t belong to majority population. For example : any entrepreneur of Japanese origin in US would fall into this category.

Women Entrepreneurs  as the name suggests. Women who has set up a new business.

–Motivational Classification: In this sector, entrepreneurs can be put into three categories

First-generation entrepreneur is the one who starts a fresh business by himself, does not have any family business prior to establishing his new venture

Self-actualizer entrepreneurs are the ones who want to self-actualize themselves

 Family business entrepreneurs are those who inherit their family business and expand it further in the future

Entrepreneurial Experience Classification: On the basis of Entrepreneurial Experience Classification, the entrepreneurs can be classified into two broad categories, Novice and Habitual Entrepreneurs.

Novice entrepreneurs: individual who don’t have any experience in the past

Habitual entrepreneurs: are the those who have the experience of owning at least two or more different firms.

Technical experience Classification: A technical experience entrepreneur is known as the founder and current owner manager of business based on technology .

 

3 ways to enter the world of entrepreneurship

 

There are three basic ways to start a new business and become an entrepreneur

• You have technical expertise

• You have an idea

• Have a wish

 

 

Example of successful stories for entrepreneurs:

 

• Sabri Ulker

is the owner of the world’s most famous confectionery and pastry company Ulker, born in 1920.

It was a dream that every child, whether rich or poor, would get a piece of biscuits and sweets to enjoy, after he lived in a young age suffering a cruel war. He worked in the primary stage in a biscuit factory during the summer vacation and after years joined the Faculty of Commerce and Economics. At the time World War II took place. Most children forgot the taste of biscuits and candy. He decided to return the flour and bought a small shop that did not exceed 100 m. The company, which started with three workers, today has reached more than 30,000 workers and employees. Sabri Ulker became one of the giants of the Turkish economy.

 

 

 

• Ralph Lifschitz

an American citizen, was born in 1939 in New York State. Ralph Lauren lived a rather miserable childhood where he was ridiculed by his classmates because of his family name, where children always ridiculed his name. He and his brother decided to change his family name to Lorraine instead of Lefchitz.

He was interested in fashion since he was young. Lauren graduated from high school in and later left the university for military service. While working as a sales assistant at “Brooks Brothers”, Lauren decided to check whether the men were ready to wear wide, bright neckties. In that period, he had a custom of dark-colored neckties, but Lorraine wanted to draw a line of his designs, A large number of new and light-colored crevices, which impressed many customers. In 1967 he decided to realize his dream and achieved sales of $ 500 thousand dollars. The following year he founded the Polo brand.

Urban areas around the world are rapidly growing in tandem with the digital transformation and the demand for information and communication technology, which is a driving force for social and economic transformation in different cities of the world. America has conducted a study which showed that by 2050, 70% of the world’s cities will be transferred to smart cities.

 

It is the ambition of all cities to transform to a digital and smart city. And to achieve this ambition, it is important to achieve the three elements of development which are; economic, social and environmental development.

‪The term of smart or digital city arose after 2000 AD. It was shared by politicians, economists, managers, and those who are responsible for urban planning with a view to changes based on new technologies used in cities. Smart City idea stems from exploiting digital technologies in improving economic, social and political conditions, which correspond to the community after the industrial revolution facing communities by the end of the twentieth century.

Goals of Smart Cities

‪- Increased sustainability.

‪- Improved citizen’s life.

‪-  Economic growth.

‪Advantages

‪-Provide new and diverse jobs.

‪-Limit the dependence on petroleum.

‪-Make cities more livable.

‪Disadvantages

‪-Totally dependence on energy, electricity and Internet.

‪-The possibility of technical petitions and failures.

‪-Consumption of high values ​​from the state budget to create projects.

Some Typical Features

-Provide housing opportunities for community members.

-Reduce traffic and air pollution.

-Support smart move include transport infrastructure and communications.

 

 

Smart cities include actions that can provide a better life for urban; for example, link sharing or involve the citizen in the city’s huge planning projects. Smart cities are characterized by smart economy, smart citizens, smart civilian management, smart traffic and transport systems, and smart conservation. It is also intelligent coexistence

 

Green Transportation

Green Transportation is the use of clean transport which barely affect the environment such as walking, bicycle, environment friendly vehicles. It is powered by electric or solar energy while reducing the traditional means of transport like cars.

 

 

Smart cities can be new cities which are designed and created in a clever way right from the beginning, or traditional cities gradually converted to smart ones. Many cities around the world launched projects for smart cities; such as, Dubai, New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam and Songdo -South Korea.

An Example of one of the best smart cities is

1- Songdo in South Korea:

It is the best and most powerful model for smart cities around the world, located in south of Seoul. This city relies on alternative energy, sensors, and computers that are built along the roads and buildings to assess and adjust energy consumption. Around 40% of the area is reserved for green space and it aims to double in size by 2020. This is the city of the future.

 

2- Fujisawa in Japan:

Fujisawa is the most environmentally friendly city in the world. It is the first model of a future city project. It is designed for only 3000 people. It has 1000 homes. Residents use renewable energy sources throughout their daily lives. They also use bicycles and electric cars. They sat up freight stations in every corner of the city.

Despite the different priorities and purposes of smart cities, they all share three main points:

1-Information and communication technology infrastructure.

2- The carefully integrated administrative framework of the smart city.

3- Smart users.

This three points are a prerequisite for the success of smart cities and effectiveness of its services.

Opinions of Citizens  

In a statistical study of smart cities around the world carried out by the reconnaissance unit in the magazine “The Economist” in cooperation with “Philips” found that:

– About one-third of citizens now interact with the smart city system and communicate with government.

– How do they communicate?

1 – 44% by social media  sites.

2 – 42% by E-mail.

3 – 27% by government official sites.

4 – 24% by smart phone applications.

5 – 21% by telephone lines.

6 – 18% by writing.

Conclusion

To conclude, each city in the world look to be a smart city in the future. Recording to Klaus Schwab, World Economic Forum founder, who said ” we stand on a technical revolution which will substantially change our livings and careers. Who knows, Earth may be one smart city in the future”.
